WFAN Offers Legacy Planning Meetings in Iowa and Minnesota
We often hear from women landowners at our Women Caring for the Land conservation meetings that they are concerned about how to make sure the conservation practices they are using are passed on to the next generation. To meet this need, WFAN is piloting a new series of meetings in 2016 in Iowa and Minnesota, focused on legacy planning. We will spend time discussing ideas and situations to help clarify your goals and shape the conversations you want to have with your family, renter and other partners about transitioning your land in a way that includes your conservation values. The discussions are informal and designed to help you navigate your personal circumstances.
Resource professionals will outline various strategies for land transition and bring up points you should consider. Passing land to future generations while you have time to make plans can help assure that your conservation values are passed on, too!
WCL Legacy Planning meetings are scheduled right now for the following dates and locations. Be sure to check the WFAN events calendar for more meetings – we’ll post them as they are scheduled. For more resources and information for women landowners, visit this page, or email Carol Schutte at this link.
All meetings are free, with continental breakfast and lunch provided. An RSVP is requested so organizers can arrange for the right amount of food. If you have a female friend or family member who might enjoy this meeting, please invite her to RSVP and come along!
These WCL meetings are funded by a grant from the USDA Risk Management Agency.
