WFAN Conference Early Bird Deadline is Oct. 13; Register Now!
The WFAN conference planning committee has put together one of the best programs ever for this year's event! You really won't want to miss it. Early bird discount ends at midnight CST on October 13, so don't delay. Register now! The conference -- Women and Permaculture: Making a Living in Harmony with the Land -- will be Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, at Lied Lodge and Conference Center, Nebraska City, NE (40 mi. south of Omaha). If you haven't visited Lied Lodge before, on the grounds of Arbor Day Farm, you are in for a treat.
Click here to view the agenda, including tour and workshop descriptions. Friday options include three field tours (The Big Garden, at left, will be an Omaha tour stop) and two on-site intensives, a local wine and cider tasting, a local foods tasting event, and a free screening and discussion of the permaculture film "Inhabit."
On Saturday, our fantastic keynote speakerKarryn Olson-Ramanujan will give a talk titled Co-Creating our Regenerative Future: Why Permaculture? Why Women? Why Now? She and other presenters will focus on how we can create a regenerative agricultural system together. As always, Saturday lunch will feature local foods. We will wrap up with a snack at 4 p.m., after which the WFAN board invites you to join them for an informal chat in the Library Lounge next to the Lodge restaurant before you head home -- or maybe spend one more night in the beautiful facility to relax and process all you've learned.
Lied Lodge is offering a reduced room rate through October 10 for both Friday and Saturday nights. Call them directly at 800-546-5433 and mention WFAN to take advantage of it. Some scholarships are still available -- learn about those and find links for carpooling and room sharing on the conference page.
Quote from a 2015 conference attendee: “What a rejuvenating 1.5 days! (When do you say that after returning from a conference?!)”
