She’s a leader in food and agriculture and has served in a variety of roles in Wisconsin Farmers Union and USDA FSA. Now, she will bring her range of skills and knowledge to the National Farmers Union as Vice President. She was elected this March at the National Farmers Union Convention in Kansas City.

Plate to Politics Educates Over 160 Women this Spring through Empowering Workshops

WFAN’s Plate to Politics program provided skills based political leadership training to over 160 women in food and agriculture this spring. Our spring workshop tour visited Des Moines, Iowa; East Troy, Wisconsin; Falcon Heights, Minnesota; and Tucson, Arizona. The one-day workshops trained women how to lead and motivate people to action by sharing their unique stories.

How I Lead: Effie Truchon Leads in Community, Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence

Effie Truchon has a wide ranging background. Before finding her way to permaculture and coordinating the Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence she worked as machinist, as a professional violist, in the music and entertainment industry, and lived and worked in Ireland.
