Women Caring for the Land — Littleton, Maine

  • The Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Club 94 Littleton Station Road Littleton, Maine (map)

Have you inherited farmland you are managing alone or with siblings?  Or perhaps you are widowed and trying to manage alone?  Do you own more than 40 acres, with some in crops? If this describes you, we invite you to have lunch with us to meet and talk with other women like you.

This response from one attendee is typical of our landowners’ experiences: “I came to learn what I can, so I can contribute to conversations about the farm. If you don’t know, you don’t have a voice.”

Women from conservation agencies will be available to answer your questions about the environment and farming and share how they can help. There are important practices that will help stop erosion, improve soil health, water quality, and profitability to ensure that your land will sustain agriculture far into the future.

WFAN has a history of organizing fun and informative meetings about conservation practices for women landowners. We work in partnership with others to provide women the information, connections, and encouragement they need to take good care of their land. We’ve met primarily in rural areas for over 10 years. Now we want to meet the needs of absentee landowners like you. There is no obligation to pursue any new management style; just come and talk with us!
