Come learn more about conservation practices and network with other farm women in your region!
We’ll start this event out at the park and have lunch before a tour of local farms’ cover crop and no-till practices. Hear the lessons learned by Mary Ann and Kurt Kohlmann and daughter Susan Wilson in their first three years of grazing. The family raises steers and chickens and has converted cropland into pasture, improving water quality on the land.
Women Caring for the Land was designed by Women, Food & Agriculture Network to serve women farmland landowners who are interested in learning more about conservation. Research has shown women value women-only meetings with their peers. These events provide women landowners and farmers the opportunity to network with their peers and learn from resource professionals. For these reasons, we do request that the early portion be women only. We do recognize though that men are also interested in learning more about conservation opportunities, therefore they are welcome to join for the potluck lunch and farm tour at 6. Potluck Dinner (Bring a dish to pass!) Registration and networking start at 3:30pm
